Why should I?

1. Why should I say I can't when the bible says I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13)?

2. Why should I worry about my needs when I know that God will take care of all my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)?

3. Why should I fear when the bible says God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7)?

4. Why should I lack faith to live for christ when God has given me plenty of faith (Romans 12:3)?

5. Why should I be weak when the bible says that the Lord is the strength of my life and that I will display strength and take action because I know God (Psalm 27:1; Daniel 11:32)?

6. Why should I allow Satan control over my life when He that is in me is greater than that is in the world (1 John 4:4)?

7. Why should I accept defeat when the bible says that God always leads me in victory (2 Corinthians 2:14)?

8. Why should I lack wisdom when I know that Christ became wisdom to me from God and God gives wisdom to me generously when I ask Him for it (1 Corinthians 1:30; James 1:5)?

9. Why should I be depressed when I can recall to mind God's loving kindness, compassion and faithfulness and have hope (Lamentations 3:21-23)?

10. Why should I worry and be upset when I can sat all my problems on Christ who cares for me (1 Peter 5:7)?

11. Why should I ever be in bondage knowing that there is freedom where the Spirit of the Lord is (Galatians 5:1)?

12. Why should I feel condemned when the bible says I won't be condemned because I am in Christ (Romans 8:1)?

13. Why should I feel alone when Jesus said He is with me always and He will never leave me nor forsake me (Matthew 28:20; Hebrew 13:5)?

14. Why should I feel like I'm cursed or have bad luck when the bible says that Christ rescued me from the curse of the law that I might receive His Spirit (Galatians 3:13-14)?

15. Why should I be unhappy when I, like Paul, can learn to be satisfied in all kinds of conditions (Philippians 4:11)?

16. Why should I feel worthless when Christ became sin for me so that I might become acceptable to God (2 Corinthians 5:21)?

17. Why should I feel that others are out to get me when I know that nobody can be against me when God is for me (Romans 8:31)?

18. Why should I be confused when God is the author of peace and He gives me knowledge through His Spirit who lives in me (1 Corinthians 2:12; 14:33)?

19. Why should I feel like a failure when I am a conqueror in all things through Christ (Romans 8:37)?

20. Why should I let the pressure of life bother me when i Can take courage knowing that Jesus has overcome the world and its problems (John 16:33)?

Accident prone

Today my Sister made a comment, "I've never seen a child with so many accidents before!"
She's referring to my daughter Leah. Today we celebrated Fiana's Birthday at my mom's place.
Instead of a birthday cake, I bought her birthday doughnuts instead, a dozen to be precise. and we had a dozen candles (cos the kids in the house love to sing birthday song and then blow out the candles) Tristan and Leah are trying to see who can blow out the most, of cos Leah needed lots of help from us. And the accident happened, while she was trying to blow out the last few candles with me holding her, her hair (front part) caught fire.... (terrible rite). The most amazing thing was she didn't cry or made a din out of it.. really amazing.. I saw the bright light in front of her and my sister and brother-in-law who were in front keep yelling fire! fire! And I quickly put out the fire with my spare hand..
Very exciting incident today. Those who wanna see her hair can have a look on Sunday lar. For now take a look at the pictures.
Birthday Doughnuts
Who can blow out the most candles!
Too near to the flame dear dear! Opps!
Nai Nai holding her with a new hairstyle.

Ya and before that, today was my off day because Fiana had an appointment with her gynae, and today we are supposed to know the gender of the baby.. And it's ..... most of you have guessed it wrongly... it's a girl... we gg to name her 学敏 (leaning to be sensitive to God).
and what's the reaction from her big sister Leah?
Don't really care lar.. Wanna sleep liao!

Having sisters makes one happier

"Having a sister makes you happier and more optimistic, a new study shows, but the same is not true for having a brother."
"Sister appear to encourage more open communication and cohesion in families. However, brothers seem to have the alternative effect." from today online dtd 6th April 2009.

Not sure if it's 妹妹(younger sister) or 姐姐(elder sister). So now you can blame your brother when you are not happy or a pessimistic.

My next child would also be a much happier and more optimistic one, due to her elder sister Leah.

Marina Barrage

Went to Marina Barrage today with the family, had a really superb day. The most expensive thing would be the cab fare, below is the conversation btw me and the uncle;

me: Uncle, I wanna go to Marina Barrage, the newly built place where there's a reservoir.
Uncle: Oh ok.. (Took me to the flyer there and wanna drop me at esplande)
me: No, no uncle don't look like that one lei, quite nice one. (I also not sure where the place is)
Uncle: Oh you mean that place at Marina Bay ah, I went there before.
After passing through a $2 ERP and make a big round when we reach there the fare is about $9.80 (take note it's from Beach Rd to Marina Bay) So expensive lor. But I'm also at fault lar, also not sure where the place is exactly if not can guide him already and maybe save on the ERP and maybe $5.

Too bad didn't bring the camera the place is so beautiful, Leah played at the water playground and didn't want to come up. After that went up to the roof top, Woh the view is really good and we are able to see the sea and lots of ships (ya Leah can say Sea already and Fiana and I didn;t teach her that. So surprise!) Wanted to fly a kite the wind there is so strong and it's really good for that, too bad there is a thunderstorm nearby (even see a few lightning coming down) and have to stay in the shelter. Leah is getting restless and mommy is feeling tired (sleeping now) so went home. The whole experience today is good...

This E-postcard is taken from the gallery where they teaches the importance of recycling. (Not in the picture as I'm operating the controls, took a long time to get Tes to take the pic.)

Women can't drive

Moment of truth caught on tape.

Follow the cloud (Num 9:17)

My boss send me an e-mail on a devotion that her CG Leader is doing and I think it's good. Wanna share it with you guys.

“whenever the cloud lifted from above the Tent, the Israelites set out; whenever the cloud settled, the Israelites encamped” (Num 9:17).

Observation 1: This is No Ordinary Cloud

================================

Following their exodus from Egypt and during their years of wandering in wilderness, the Israelites know that the cloud hovering over the tabernacle was the visible symbol of the LORD’s presence. Paul W. Kuske, a bible scholar, wrote, “continuously, at any time of day or night, an Israelite was able to look toward the tabernacle and remind himself that even in the most hostile environment of the desert, the Lord was the leader and protector of the people he had chosen as his own”.

Application 1: The Lord’s presence represents the anointing & blessings of God in our lives… The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace” (Num 6:24-26)… But a condition for this continued blessing is that we remain clean & purified. Let the story of Samson be a warning for us to heed – “he did not know that the LORD had left him (Judges 16:20b).” Of course in today’s context, we know that God will never abandon us completely, but we can still be left alone… so, let’s not take his presence and anointing for granted.

Observation 2: The Israelites travelled and camped as God guided.

===================================================

God directed the movement of his people by means of the cloud.

¨ When the cloud remained over the tabernacle for a long time, the Israelites obeyed the LORD’s order and did not set out (v.19).

¨ Sometimes, the cloud was over the tabernacle for a few days; at the LORD’s command they would encamp, and then at his command they would set out (v.20).

¨ Sometimes, the cloud stayed only from evening to morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they set out (v.21).

Application 2: When the cloud remained stationary for a long time, we can either (a) become so comfortable and accustomed with the surrounding; or (b) become so restless and impatient to move on. Both is not good – those in the first group will find it difficult to move (relocate) when the cloud starts to set out (when the will of God tells you to do something out of your comfort zone), whilst those in the second group misses what God want to do through you in your current situation. Instead of praying, “God, what do you want me to do next?’ it may be better to pray “God, what do you want me to do while I’m right here?” God has a purpose in placing where you are right now.

Application 3: When the cloud remained for a few days, we can be misled to think that we have made a mistake, a wrong choice… God never intended us to stay here… Perhaps, this may sound familiar to some? In obedience, you followed God’s direction to move in a certain direction, but after a short while, you are asked to go another direction. From human perspective, people would have thought that you are fickle-minded or you have a mistake in the first instance. This may not be so… God may direct us one step at a time.

Application 4: When the cloud remained only for the night, we can complain of being stretched. Why can’t we have more time to rest, more time to relax with our family, more time to enjoy the scenery, more time to stop and smell the flower? In such time, even though our feet is sore from the day’s walking and our back aching from carrying our possessions, remember: (a) to thank God that he gave us the night to rest, and (b) to trust God – He knows where He is leading us & His plan is to prosper us, not harm us.

Application 5: For Peace Mission

In conclusion, we are to watch the cloud at all time. When He sets out, we set out. When He remain, we stay.

My own application:

To always be sensitive to the cloud (God’s Presences) in my life, when He remain, I stay, when he move, I move. Quite hard but need to be sensitive to the Him and be alert to the opportunity and opening that he places in front of me.
